Pour the warm (not hot)Â milk into a bowl. Sprinkle the packet of dry yeast on top. Wait until a fine foam starts to appear.Â
Crack the egg into the milk, pour in the melted butter and add the sugar.Â
Add the flour and salt and knead the dough for about 6 minutes. You can either use a mixer with suitable attachments or knead by hand.Â
When the dough is perfectly smooth, elastic and doesn't stick to your hands, transfer it to a bowl greased with oil and cover with food wrap. Set aside in a warm place for approx. 1.5h to rise.Â
After this time, transfer the dough to a floured countertop. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, quite thinly, but make sure that no holes are formed anywhere.Â
Mix the butter with the sugar and the matcha. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.Â
Roll up the dough carefully and tightly so that the buns are compact.Â
Then cut the roll into approximately 3-4 cm slices. About 9 slices should come out.Â
Place the prepared portions on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Keep the spaces (the dough will still rise).Â
Cover the tray with a towel and set aside in a warm place for about 30 minutes.Â
Preheat the oven to 180°C/356°F. Bake the matcha rolls for approx. 15-20 min. Until they are browned on the top and have risen nicely.Â
In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, soft butter, icing sugar and matcha. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and slightly glossy. Spread the topping over the matcha buns. You can additionally decorate them with mango puree and fruits of choice.Â
