Our matcha bowl potter in Japan created a brand new Samurai matcha bowl design, inspired by the bronze style of Samurai attire with a white zen brush. It is earthy, masculine and sophisticated.
In the 15th century, Zen monks introduced the tea ceremony to Samurais. Samurais thoroughly enjoyed the Zenergy and ritual from preparing and drinking matcha and started to make it popular in the secular world.
The Samurai matcha bowl is hand-crafted in Japan. No two bowls are identical. Each bowl has its own subtle variation.
Its total volume is about 18oz. It is about 3" high and about 4.5" in the upper diameter. All Encha ceramics are lead-free.
